This silent retreat is built around the elements of the Examen prayer of St. Ignatius of Loyola. The Examen is a technique of prayerful reflection on the events your day in order to detect God's presence and discern his direction for you. On this retreat, you will review your life from a prayerful, God-Centered perspective.
Cursillo Weekends at St. Francis
Cursillo is an encounter with Christ. It promotes a spiritual revitalization of our world. By living a fully Christian life, we bring Christ to others, including members of our family, school, workplace, etc. Cursillo develops a consciousness that we are called to be leaders. The Cursillo Movement is introduced over a consecutive seventy-two hour period called a "Three Day Weekend". The team and candidates live as a small Christian community over the weekend and discuss these talks in small groups. Learn more about Cursillo and register for a Cursillo Weekend at www.lansingcursillo.org.
Lord, Make Me an Instrument
The Lord speaks to us in a soft voice. If we are to hear Him, we must be still and focus on our relationship with God through contemplative prayer. This action purifies the temple of our soul. It removes worldly distractions, and provides an intimate reception which welcomes our Lord into our innermost being.
