This is a ministry of Tony Sperendi. My passion is to reach out to people seeking the greatest treasure of life… to dig deep and encounter the person of Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God! He is our life, our sweetness, and our hope of Eternal Life! He reveals the Father and renews and guides us with his Holy Spirit. And it is through the Scriptures, the Sacraments, our Blessed Mother Mary and the saints, and the depths of our Catholic Tradition that we can grow and thrive along with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
We are all called to be missionary disciples to all those we encounter. We don’t have to preach at people but rather let the light and love of Jesus shine through us. After all, Jesus said “You are the salt of the earth,” meaning that we can add flavor and goodness to others by our smile and genuine care for others. Jesus also said, “You are the light of the world.” If we truly love one another, people will see the light of God shining through us. Jesus also said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” See Matthew 5:13-20.

A Marriage Enrichment Retreat tailored to your busy schedule. It is long enough to reap good habits and breathe new life in your marriage!
You are invited to a 3 hour Marriage Retreat consisting of 3 topics including:
• “Communication: The Path to Trust & Intimacy”
• “Commitment: Building an Intentional Marriage”
• “A Virtue – Driven Marriage”
These topics are very important in marriages today. You will receive handouts that will further deepen your love one another!
Tony Sperendi is your retreat director. He has been giving marriage retreats and engaged retreats for 24 years here at St. Francis Retreat Center and at parishes in the dioceses of Lansing and Detroit. He and his wife Patty have been married 50 years.
Cost: $75 per couple

About Tony Sperendi
I grew up in New York in a devout Catholic family. While I believed in God, I didn’t have much of a relationship with Him. As a sophomore in college I had lost my way and became depressed and aimless. But by the grace of God I met Jesus and my life was changed forever. Shortly after this encounter, I met Patty and we have been married 49 years and have 4 adult children and 4 wonderful grandchildren.
I changed my major at the University of Dayton to theology and have worked for the Church most of my life. I went on to graduate school at the U. of Dayton and St. Leonard’s seminary. I also studied at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Seminary. I have worked at parishes in Ohio and Michigan as director of religious education, adult faith formation, and RCIA. I also taught theology at two Catholic High Schools and worked as a pastoral counselor at a Catholic hospital. I am a commissioned lay ecclesial minister in the Diocese of Lansing and a graduate of the Institute of Spiritual Direction.
One of my greatest joys is helping folks encounter the Lord’s love, mercy, and healing through retreats and preaching and teaching at parishes. My favorite saint is St. Therese of Lisieux and I love sharing her “little way” with others. She’s fabulous!
